Swedish innovation house Serendipity Innovations and Encubator, the Chalmers University of Technology incubator, have commercialized a project that began in 2009 as part of the educational programs at Chalmers and the Sahlgrenska Academy, both seats of learning in Gothenburg.

In the project students pursue research ideas provided by both industry and academia as part of the business enterprise programs at the universities.

The new company, which gathers researchers in bacteriology and immunology under one roof, goes by the name of Premune. The research team behind the company includes, among others, professors Agnes Wold, Ingegerd Adlerberth and Anna Rudin, all of whom carry out research in these fields.

Their research shows that a specific superantigen can trigger an immune response that reduces the risk of developing allergies.
