9th World Biomaterials Congress

Short description:
The theme of the congress is "Innovative Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine", including the progress in clinical research and applications, addressing the leading research and technological issues in the rapidly changing field of biomaterials science and engineering. Young scientists and students are encouraged to involve in the congress event.

The scientific programme will be composed of

  • plenary lectures,
  • invited speakers,
  • oral and poster presentation by plenary sessions,
  • symposia,
  • workshops and
  • forums.

Important scientific and industrial presence from the Gothenburg region at the congress
A big delegation from Gothenburg will be attending the congress. The aim is to promote research & education, regional healthcare & development and industry within biomaterials -  one of the most important focus areas within Life Science in the region of Western Sweden.

A large number of abstracts have been approved from our region, which makes us one of the largest contributors to the congress. Gothenburg scientists are also scheduled to participate in a symposium titled "Cell-cell communication and cell-biomaterial surface interactions", which has been accepted by the WBC2012 scientific program committee.
